That's where our 42.2km route starts — on the Equator itself, next to the monument inside Queen Elizabeth National Park. And it's where the 2026 kit begins too.

Here's a look at the design, and the details you might miss on a first glance.

The setting, mapped onto the shirt

Kasese sits between the peaks of the Rwenzori and the savannah of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Not many marathons anywhere run through a setting like it. We wanted the shirt to carry that landscape rather than just a logo, so we built the design around three things.

The Equator monument rises against the sun on the front. It marks the exact spot where the marathon starts.

The foothills of the Rwenzori run through the design — the home of the race, and the backdrop to every finish in Kasese.

And if you trace the fabric, you'll find the topographic contour lines of the mountains themselves, including Kilembe hill. That's the climb around km 28 to 35 on the marathon route. We mapped it onto the kit so you'll remember the hill long after your legs have recovered from the climb.

The details to find

There's more once you look closely. The sun rising over the savannah at the start. The Tusker Lite elephant, which is also a nod to the elephants of Queen Elizabeth National Park. And a quiet mark for our fifth anniversary.

What else to expect

The kit goes beyond the shirt. You also get:

• a lightweight running cap
• a belt for your phone and gels
• a drawstring bag to keep everything tidy before and after the race

…and a few surprises you'll find when you pick it up yourself.

It's all made in Tusker Lite green, and built to wear all day, every day.

Five years, measured in shirts

The shirt is a fair way to measure how far this race has come. In 2022, our first year, we had a vest with a logo on it, pulled together in about two months. In 2023 we moved to a t-shirt, because it works for more runners, and started building the race around what people actually wanted. In 2024, we spent months on the design for the first time, and that shirt is still the most popular we've made.

The target every year since has been the same: be better than the year before. The 2026 kit is where we've landed this time.
