The Equator Marathon (42 km)

Our marathon distance is (as far as we know) the only marathon in the world that crosses the Equator, offering runners an unforgettable experience.

Participants will embark on a remarkable journey through the awe-inspiring Queen Elizabeth National Park, starting at the Equator and making your way towards Kasese town, where you will venture into the foothills of the breathtaking Rwenzori Mountains. This route showcases the stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity that make Uganda a truly remarkable destination.

The route was internationally certified by the World Athletics Federation on April 2, 2024.

The Kilembe Half Marathon (21 km)

Taking runners into the foothills of the Rwenzori mountain range, our half-marathon route has garnered global recognition, having been named one of the most scenic half-marathons in the world by USA Today.

  • Elevation gain: 400 m
  • Terrain: 80% tarmac, 20% gravel/murram

The 10 km run

New as of 2024, this 10 km route offers a scenic tour around Kasese town, ideal for beginners and seasoned runners alike. Experience the vibrant energy of the community as you navigate through its bustling streets and charming neighborhoods. With a mix of urban scenery and the Rwenzori Mountains as a backdrop, this route promises an unforgettable running experience for all participants.

The 5 km Fun Run

The 5 km Fun Run through Kasese's streets is a perfect family-friendly event, offering scenic views of the breathtaking Rwenzori mountains. Participants of all ages and skill levels can take part in this enjoyable and inclusive activity.

With a focus on fun, families can make memories and enjoy the camaraderie of the event while exploring the local surroundings!
