Services on route
First Aid
First aid station is located at the venue and on route.
Ambulances
Ambulances are strategically positioned on the route and mobilised in the event of an emergency.
Water & other hydration
Kasese is hot (27-30 degrees) in August, so plan accordingly. Drink plenty the day before the race, and have a strategy for hydration on route.
Our official hydration partner is Coca-Cola Beverages Ltd. They will be supplying Rwenzori Water on the route, as well as soda products.
- Water stations are located at the start and finish, and at 3-5 km intervals on all routes.
- Water will be supplied in 500ml bottles and paper cups. Take water whenever you get the chance!
- Please discard your water bottle in the bin bags placed 25m – 200m after each water station, or carry it to the next station.
- There will also be soda offered at hydration points
- Please plan to bring whatever else you need to run long distances in the heat – like salt, glucose, gels or specialty sports drinks.
Time limit
The time limit for completing the full marathon is 6 hours. We will however, to the best of our ability, try to accommodate runners who take a bit longer than this.
A word on environment
Keeping our environment clean is a very important part of our lives and more so as part of this larger cause of the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon. Please deposit trash in the rightful place, do not litter and avoid blocking drainage. The organisers desire a clean environment and aim to reduce the impact that the run might have on the environment. We would like to leave both the route and venue “better than we found it”, and follow the principles of Leave No Trace.
